Web Discussions
Delve Into, Discover, Discuss
The Digital Reference Section offers monthly Web-based programs that provide participants with opportunities to interact with Library of Congress specialists, librarians, and other staff members around topics focused on the Library's collections. Topics reflect the depth and breadth of the resources available in the Library's digital and physical collections.
Topics of upcoming programs include exploring the role of women such as Clara Barton in the Civil War, with a specialist from the Manuscript Division; celebrating poetry, with the Poetry and Literature Center; finding invisible ancestors, with the Local History & Genealogy Research Center; using THOMAS, with the Law Library; and finding free e-resources, with the Library’s electronic resources coordinator. For an archive of previous programs, see the OPAL (Online Programming for All Libraries) archive at http://www.opal-online.org/archiveloc.htm
Programs are announced through the Virtual Programs & Services RSS Feed and Email Subscription at http://www.loc.gov/rss/#general. To register for an upcoming program, email the Digital Reference Section at drt@loc.gov. To request a program on a particular
