Effective
Tuesday, September 25, 2012, the National Centers for
Environmental
Prediction (NCEP) will discontinue CFS Version 1.
On March 30,
2011, NCEP implemented CFS Version 2. NCEP
originally announced in TIN 10-55, issued January 2011,
that CFS
Version 1 would
not overlap Version 2. After input from users,
NCEP announced
that Version 1 would continue to run until June
2011
to allow users to transition to Version 2. That overlap
period was then extended to June 2012. NCEP is now
discontinuing
Version
1. The output from the
Version 1 is currently available
on the NWS FTP server at:
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/MT.cfs_MR.clim/
and
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/MT.cfs_MR.fcst/
as well as on the NCEP server at:
ftp://ftp.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data1/nccf/com/cfs/prod/
Details about the
operational Version 2 are available at:

The output from
CFS version 2 is available on the NCEP server and
