I know we are not a farming community, but we depend on farmers for our food! Please vote for bills which help farmers. The drought: Hurts farmers, who then can't pay for other items in the economy. Also, If there isn't as much food/milk being produced--this can drive up the price of food for the rest of the population. Why should the federal government help out the farmers? Because by doing so, they can help out the rest of us!!! By helping out the farmers, we help to continue food production here in the U.S. We already have a dependence (although somewhat artificial) on foreign oil.
