ANNOTATION: The number of new Iowa prisoners with mental and addictive disorders is determined. Sections of this paper in addition to an abstract are introduction, methods, results, and discussion. By using the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview-Plus (MINI-Plus), the authors found that more than 90% of those individuals assessed have a current or lifetime psychiatric disorder, with two-thirds having three or more disorders.
