As the western world is increasingly involved in an opening Burma, new data from a Gallup/BBG national survey find the country's media use patterns still lingering in the past. While new media use has grown rapidly in the rest of Southeast Asia, in Burma only 4 percent of adults have ever used the Internet. At the same time, FM radio has seen a rapid rise, which the government has initiated. This includes a two-year old pop music station, which 40% of the country listens to regularly and many consider their top news source. The panel will explore these findings and other data points from the new research from Burma. - LikesSee All
