Information on the Boundary and Annexation Survey and the Tribal Statistical Areas Program, which the U.S. Census Bureau uses to collect and maintain geographic information on tribal areas, is available in Federal Register notices published in November 2008.  These notices provided the final program criteria used to designate American Indian and Alaska Native Areas for inclusion in Census 2010.
