Medical Department
The Medical Department's mission is to take advantage of the unique facilities and expertise at Brookhaven National Laboratory for their potential applications to biological imaging, including medical applications as well as the study of plants to better understand plant metabolism and growth.
   
Biology Department
The mission of the Biology Department is to produce excellent science and advanced technology in a safe, environmentally benign manner, and to develop complex facilities that take advantage of the Laboratory's unique resources.
   
Environmental Sciences Department
The Environmental Sciences Department is comprised of Atmospheric Sciences Division and the Environmental Research & Technology Division.
The environmental programs include atmospheric physics and chemistry, carbon cycle research, plant ecology and bioremediation.
   
Computational Science Center
The Computational Science Center brings together researchers in biology, chemistry, physics, and medicine with applied mathematicians and computer scientists to exploit the remarkable opportunities for scientific discovery which have been enabled by modern computers.
