Who is more likely to come into contact with the police? The percentage of males (18.5%) experiencing face-to-face contact with police was higher than the percentage of females (15.5%) in 2008. Among residents age 16 or older, persons ages 18 to 24 experienced the highest percentage of police contact in 2008. White residents (17.8%) experienced a higher rate of contact with police than black (14.2%) and Hispanic (15.0%) residents in 2008. See Contacts between Police and the Public, 2008 |
