ANNOTATION: The Multisystemic Therapy (MST) pilot program, “an intensive family- and community-based intervention for chronic juvenile offenders and youth with serious emotional disorders, 12 to 17 years of age, is evaluated (p. 1). Sections of this report include: executive summary; introduction; the intervention and referral process; characteristics of enrolled youth; outcomes regarding subsequent involvement in criminal justice at 12 months and use of public mental health services; summary; and statistical appendix. Participating youth in the MST program are convicted of fewer crimes than non-participants while reducing related costs.
