From September 23-27, USAID Administrator Raj Shah and other Agency leaders will participate in several events taking place during and around the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Through our key events, USAID will demonstrate results in our core focus areas and spotlight how the Agency is doing business differently to achieve unprecedented progress.
This year’s Assembly will focus on the rule of law at the national and international levels. USAID recognizes that long-term, sustainable development is closely linked to sound democratic governance and the protection of human rights. Strong institutions and democratic rights not only advance development goals, they are essential to their long-term success. That is why USAID is integrating democracy throughout our work, helping to strengthen and promote human rights, accountable and transparent governance, and vibrant civil societies.
Dispatches, blogs, stories and videos related to USAID's UNGA participation and programs can be found all week on USAID’s Impact Blog.
