USCIS Implements Help HAITI Act of 2010Public Invited to Comment on Interim Guidance Until January 14 Jan. 3, 2011 WASHINGTON — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced the implementation of the Help HAITI Act of 2010. This new law authorizes USCIS to grant lawful permanent resident status to certain orphaned children from Haiti, who were paroled into the United States under the Haitian Orphan Parole Program after the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake.
