Robert Adam Kinney is a CNST/UMD Postdoctoral Researcher in the Energy Research Group. Adam received a B.A. in Chemistry from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Northwestern University. His graduate research focused on using Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and Electron Nuclear Double Resonance (ENDOR) spectroscopy to characterize biomimetic transition metal complexes of the enzyme nitrogenase. Adam is working with Veronika Szalai to develop new measurement methods based on EPR spectroscopy to characterize nanobiomaterials for artificial photosynthetic applications.
