This community was established to help practitioners of Critical Item Management (CIM) access and understand regulatory and discretionary requirements, practices, and procedures.
The CIM Special Interest Area is partitioned to address CIM at various levels of applicability. The CSI Public Law, DFARS rules, DoD instructions, and instructions and guidance issued by the Joint Aeronautical Commanders Group (JACG) apply across the military Services, Defense Logistics Agency, and Defense Contract Management Agency. Service-specific and Agency-specific policies and guidance are also available

[Question] Since 'blanket" applicability is not implied for critical standard parts, how is applicability identifed for the standard indicating the item is critical? Should such items be identified through Selected Item Drawings (i.e., ASME Y14.24)?
