Although the United States is the largest funder of the United Nations, and is actively engaged throughout the UN system, Americans remain underrepresented on the UN’s staff. The 2012 examination focuses on applicants interested in Architecture, Economic Affairs, Information Systems and Communication Technology, Political Affairs, Radio Production, and Social Affairs. Applicants must meet age, education, and language criteria. The application period is open until September 12, 2012 and the examination will be held on December 9, 2012 in New York and San Francisco as well as in several international locations.
