Master Chief Bushey assumed the duties of Command Master Chief of the Eleventh District on August 2nd, 2011 after serving as Officer in Charge of Coast Guard Cutter SAWFISH (WPB 87357) in Key West, Florida. Master Chief Bushey was born outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Pensacola, Florida as a high school student. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on March 4th, 1991 in Mobile, Alabama. Upon completion of basic training, he was assigned to Coast Guard Station Quillayute River in La Push, Washington. After advancing to Boatswains Mate Third Class, he was assigned to Coast Guard Station Grand Isle, Louisiana, where he served as Boat Coxswain and Boarding Officer. In 1996, he was assigned to Tactical Law Enforcement Team Gulf – Law Enforcement Detachment Eight Bravo (Mobile, Alabama), where he served as Deployable Team Leader and Boarding Officer for Counter Narcotics Deployments in the Eastern Pacific, Caribbean Sea, and North Atlantic Ocean aboard U. S. and Allied Naval Ships. He later served as Operations Petty Officer aboard USCGC POINT LOBOS (WPB 82366), followed by tours as Executive Petty Officer aboard USCGC POINT LOBOS (WPB 82366) and USCGC BONITO (WPB 87341). His subsequent tours of duty include: Officer in Charge of CG Station Maui, Hawaii; Officer in Charge of CG Station Venice, Louisiana; and Officer in Charge of USCGC SAWFISH (WPB 87357), Key West, Florida.

Master Chief Bushey's awards and decorations include the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal (with 'O' Device), four Coast Guard Commendation Medals (with 'O' Device), two Coast Guard Achievement Medals (with 'O' Device), the Coast Guard Letter of Commendation (with 'O' Device), seven Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals, the Permanent Cutterman's Insignia, Coxswain Insignia, Tactical Law Enforcement Insignia, the Coast Guard Boat Force (Advanced) Insignia, and various other awards and decorations.

Master Chief Bushey is a 2007 graduate of Saint Leo University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the Coast Guards Chief Petty Officer Academy, Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course, and the National Defense University's Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME) and Command Senior Enlisted Leader - KEYSTONE Course.

Master Chief has been married for 21 years to the former Amy Carter of Pensacola, Florida. They are blessed with one son, Anthony (19), who is currently studying Electrical Engineering at University of Florida.
