Latah Eagle (Idaho) - Economic stimulus money benefits older Idahoans

Older job seekers across the country soon will get a boost from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed by President Obama on Feb 17. An additional $120 million will be injected this month into the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), the only existing federal program serving older workers.

"This is welcome news for many older job seekers in Idaho who, because of their current economic situation, need to re-enter the workforce," said Teal Kinamun, business and community liaison for Experience Works, a nonprofit agency that operates the SCSEP in Idaho…

The federal government plans to spend nearly $80 million to build a new federal courthouse in downtown Billings, and the money is all coming from the recently passed stimulus bill…

More than 1,000 teachers, college students and others converged on the State House Wednesday with a message for Gov. Mark Sanford: Take the $700 million in federal stimulus money.
