News: Afghanistan: Joint operation of the Afghan National Police and ISAF leads to the detention of a group of suspected bombers

HERAT, Afghanistan - Police Forces of the 606 Corps of the Afghan National Police have detained a group of individuals suspected of having placed several improvised explosive devices along the axes of communication Bakwa district in the southern province of Farah.
The operation was conducted with the support of ISAF military and it began when four men were spotted burying some rudimentary bombs along a road a few miles from the bases of the police. They were then taken back to two nearby locations.
After verifying the actual presence of two weapons – neutralized by ISAF specialists - Afghan and ISAF forces moved toward the villages where the four men identified in advance had taken refuge. Once the surrounding area was made safe together with ISAF Task Force, the Afghan police have detained a group of suspects who formed a cell of insurgents active in the district.
