Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Bring Holiday 'Cheer' to Installations in Japan, Korea

Monday, December 12, 2011

USO entertainment touring veterans the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders is setting out for American bases and USO centers in Okinawa, Japan and Korea to deliver holiday cheer and good tidings to our troops and their families Dec. 13-22.

The visit is the group's 73rd USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour and the 12-woman troupe will divide into two and visit 21 installations while putting on six performances in 10 days.

"We all want to spend time with our family and loved ones for the holidays,” said cheerleader Ally Taylor. “But for many of our men and women in uniform that’s not possible. That’s why we wanted to make sure we touched as many military families as possible. I’m honored to be a part of the annual USO tour and to deliver a touch of home and some DCC cheer to our troops and their families.”

The most traveled of USO tour veterans, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders set out on their first USO tour in 1979 and have lifted the spirits of countless men and women in uniform and their families. Among the countries they have visited: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Belgium, Cuba, Germany, Iceland, Iraq, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait and the United Kingdom, as well as numerous stateside visits. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders are currently in their sixth season of “Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team,” which airs on the Country Music Television network.
