Fincher Votes to Stop the Tax Hike

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump), voted in favor of H.R. 8, the Job Protection and Recession Prevention Act of 2012, which will prevent a tax hike on Americans. The bill is now before the U.S. Senate where, if no action is taken, every taxpayer in America will be hit with a tax increase on January 1, 2013 when the current tax rates are set to expire.

Congressman Fincher Responds to Supreme Court Ruling on Obamacare

Washington, DC – Today, the United States Supreme Court announced its ruling on the constitutionality of President Obama’s signature piece of legislation, otherwise known as Obamacare. The law was upheld and deemed constitutional, including the controversial individual mandate. The individual mandate, which requires every American to purchase health insurance, was ruled by the Supreme Court as a tax.

WASHINGTON — Today, H.R. 3606 Reopening American Capital Markets to Emerging Growth Companies Act of 2011 passed through the full House Committee on Financial Services. The legislation would reduce the costs of going public for small and medium-sized companies by easing regulatory requirements. Over the last ten years, the number of companies going public has fallen dramatically, hurting the ability of small companies to grow, innovate, and hire new workers.
