Compliance Update

Friday, June 17, 2011
1:30 pm Central Time

On June 17, 2011, the FDIC's Kansas City Region will host a Regional Regulatory Teleconference. Our topic for the teleconference will be "Truth in Lending - Mortgage Loan Officer Compensation Rules.”

The 2 hour session will cover the regulatory requirements including prohibitions in the following areas and include a discussion of frequently asked questions:

  • Compensation based on loan terms or conditions
  • Dual compensation
  • Steering

Our speakers, comprised of FDIC staff, will provide their unique insights from an examination perspective.

The teleconference is primarily open to FDIC-supervised institutions in the Kansas City Region. Bank directors, officers, and staff members are welcome to participate. Given the nature of the topic, executive officers and others who are involved in decisions regarding loan officer compensation are encouraged to participate. Participants may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their institution.

There is no requirement to pre-register for the call. To participate, simply follow the instructions provided in the email invitation that was previously distributed to all FDIC-supervised institutions in the Kansas City Region.
