to the Fee Schedule
At its September session, the Judicial Conference
approved changes to the miscellaneous fee
schedule for the courts of appeal. More

Increase
in Compensation for CJA Counsel
The case compensation limits applicable
to counsel appointed under the Criminal
Justice Act have been increased from $6,100
to $6,900 for representation in direct criminal
appeals, appeals from the denial of habeas
corpus or § 2255 relief. The increases
apply in cases in which any work was performed
on or after January 1, 2010.
The maximum hourly
compensation rate for non-capital representation
has increased from $110 to $125 for work
performed on or after January 1, 2010. The
maximum hourly compensation rate for capital
federal post-conviction proceedings has
increased from $175 to $178 for work performed
on or after January 1, 2010. |
