Ping-Shine Shaw

Biography:

Dr. Shaw received his Ph.D in physics from Columbia University in 1989 at the Microelectronics Sciences Laboratories studying surface adsorbed layers on semiconductors. He was an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia Astrophysics Laboratory, Columbia University, from 1989 to 1993. While there, he was a co-investigator on the Stellar X-Ray Polarimeter for the Spectrum-X-Gamma satellite mission. Dr. Shaw joined NIST in 1993 as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate working primarily on x-ray technology and synchrotron radiation. Since 1995 he has been a physicist at NIST studying ultraviolet and visible radiometry.
