The High-Megawatt Converter Workshop has been very beneficial to the ongoing interagency effort between NIST and the DOE Office of Clean Energy Systems to identify technologies requiring development to meet the power converter cost and performance goals for the DOE SECA and FutureGen near zero-emission fuel cell power plant programs. Based upon the consensus of the workshop attendees, an industry-led high-megawatt power converter roadmapping effort is being planned, and an interagency working group is being formed to coordinate Federal programs in the high-megawatt area.
