The 9th International Temperature Symposium
Los Angeles / Disneyland, CA (USA)
March 19-23, 2012

Conference Scope

The International Temperature Symposia are held every 10 years as major technical conferences highlighting the advances over the last decade in all areas related to Temperature Measurement. These technical areas encompass the full range of the science and engineering of temperature, including but not limited to: new measurement technologies; new and established temperature measurement applications; calibration methods; thermophysical modeling; sensor installation design; fixed points; temperature scales and metrology.

Participants from both national and international temperature communities in all sectors of industry and science are invited to The 9th International Temperature Symposium (ITS9). Specialists in all forms of contact thermometry and radiation thermometry will be in attendance. A large contingent of participants will be from various National Metrology Institutes representing a substantial segment of the industrialized economies of the world. These participants will provide the audience with presentations on the current state-of-the-art in temperature metrology.  Many participants will be engineers from the best known temperature sensor and instrumentation original-equipment companies around the world. The representatives of these companies will also participate as exhibitors, authors, and program committee members. Many other participants are from university programs conducting research related to temperature, investigating either new technologies or new and challenging measurement applications. Still other participants will represent the many government or private research centers worldwide with programs requiring advanced approaches to temperature instrumentation.

The participation in The 9th International Temperature Symposium offers a rare and valuable opportunity for these diverse groups of engineers and scientists to convene at one venue to review the progress in temperature measurement and control applications since the last Symposium in 2002. The presentations will be in both oral and poster sessions with  opportunities to publish in a well known and archival-quality conference proceeding published by the American Institute of Physics, "Temperature its Measurement and Control in Science and Industry". Some typical presentation areas are listed below for additional guidance.
