ARMY CAREER & ALUMNI PROGRAM

The ACAP Virtual Center is operational 24/7 and staffed by ACAP Counselors. The center allows clients to work directly with an ACAP Counselor through an interactive online platform. Individuals have avatars (a graphic human figure) that can move through a three-dimensional world and interact with others. Clients communicate through private chat, microphones, and webcam.

There are many resources to assist with military transition and job preparation. The ACAP counselors can conduct individual counseling sessions, assist with job searching, and provide resume assistance. Seminars are conducted for resume preparation, interviewing training, and preparing for federal employment. Virtual Center visitors can access the resource library which contains transition information, resume materials, seminar slides and many other additional resources.

Beginning October 2012, the new Army Core Curriculum will be offered as mandated by the Veteran’s Opportunity to Work (VOW) Hero to Hires Act of 2011. Courses include Orientation/Transition Overview, MOC Crosswalk, Military Family Concerns, Value of a Mentor/Special Issues and Individual Transition Plan (ITP) Review.
