MD - BW Parkway/West Nursery Road Bridge Superstructure Replacement Showcase
Accelerated Bridge Construction Using SPMT

Linthicum, MD
October 27 – 28, 2012

Due to a change in the construction schedule, the Showcase has been moved to October 27 – 28, 2012.

The Maryland State Highway Administration will use innovative Accelerated Bridge Construction technologies to replace two bridge superstructures on West Nursery Road over the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (90,000 ADT). The prefabricated structures will be built in the existing median. On separate weekends, each existing structure will be removed and a new one installed in less than 34 hours! Each structure is 76 feet long, 59 feet wide, and weighs 215 tons. Join us for a site visit to witness the bridge move and hear the success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from the perspective of the various project team members.

Workshop Details:

This workshop will begin on Saturday, October 27th in the late afternoon/evening and will be followed by a nighttime site visit to the project. A follow-up Session will be held on Sunday morning.
