The Instructor Recertification Course (IRC) is a one-week, 40-hour program for instructors with more than five years of teaching experience at DLI. The purpose of the IRC is to update experienced faculty in areas of current foreign language teaching methodology, and to provide them with the knowledge, skills and abilities to adapt their teaching to the requirements of the Proficiency Enhancement Plan and the changing needs of the Institute. The goals of the IRC are:

  • To promote the use of best practices in communicative foreign language teaching.
  • To recognize and implement elements of task-based instruction.
