The Joint DoD/FAA National Airspace System Modernization Program (NAS Mod), an ACAT IC program, consists of three key systems:  (1) DAAS - DoD Advanced Automation System, (2) DASR - Digital Airport Surveillance Radar, and (3) TAS - Tower Automation System - The Navy Visual Information Display System (VIDS).  NAS Mod modernizes the nation's aging ATC systems with common digital systems centrally supported by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The AN/TPN-31A Air Traffic Navigation Integration and Coordination System (ATNAVICS) provides Marine Forces with a highly mobile all weather radar Air Traffic Control (ATC) system.  The system acquires and displays sensor data required for the conduct of precision and non precision approach operations and provides the communications needed by Air Traffic Controllers to guide aircraft and coordinate with higher headquarters and adjacent facilities.  This system entered service with the Marine Corps in 2007.

Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS) AN/SPN-46(V)3 is a Precision Approach Landing System (PALS) which provides electronic guidance to carrier-based aircraft and allows landing in all weather conditions with no limitations due to low ceiling or restricted visibility.

Ship Air Surveillance Radar AN/SPN-43C is a radar system used for Carrier Air Traffic Control (CATC) with 50 NM search capability up to an altitude of 30,000 feet.  It ensures safe and expeditious shipboard approach, departure, and marshal control to support fleet operations for aircraft carrier and amphibious assault ships.

PMA213 is directly responsible and accountable to Program Executive Officer, Tactical Aircraft Programs (PEO(T)).  PMA213's mission is to:  -maintain our fielded ATC and CID systems for our Warfighters today, - deliver advanced Air Traffic Control and Landing capability both at sea and ashore, and - deliver improved IFF security via Mark XIIA, Mode 5 upgrade.

Mode 5 Mark XIIA, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), an ACAT II program, provides secure, cooperative friendly platform identification.  Mode 5 uses technology advances in modulation, coding, and cryptographic techniques.  Mode 5 is implemented through evolutionary upgrades to modern Mark XII interrogators, processors, and transponders.

AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) is a centralized ID system for Fleet tactical surface platforms.  It provides IFF ID, to include Pop Up, in both Selective Identification Feature (SIF), Mode 4, and is currently integrating Mode 5 capability.

Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) - An ACAT ID program with Increment 1A Ship-based system currently in EMD phase at Raytheon Fullerton.  JPALS is a GPS-based system comprised of ship systems, aircraft systems, and JPALS-specific data link using existing GPS satellites, supporting Joint Service, civil, and multi-national interoperability.  JPALS Increment 1A Ship-based system is scheduled for Milestone C in December 2013.
