Looking and feeling your best
Most of us want to make a good impression and care about how we look. It makes sense, then, that we put a fair amount of effort into things like our hair and skin. But remember that looking and feeling good come largely from good health, self-care, and self-esteem. An inner glow and a feeling of confidence go a long way to making your outsides shine!
If you spend a lot of time feeling bad about your looks, you might have a problem with your body image. Talking to an adult you trust can help a lot, so don’t be shy about your worries.
Another great way to deal with the pressure to look good is to refuse to compare yourself to girls in TV shows, magazines, and movies. They have whole crews of professionals — and camera and computer tricks — to help them look good. And try to change the subject when your friends start complaining that they’re fat or ugly. Or see if you can get them thinking about whether what they’re saying is really true. Remember, everyone’s got something beautiful about them!
As your body changes, you can feel a lot more comfortable and confident if you’ve got the information you need. Check out the links below to learn more about looking and feeling your best.
