The Corporate Council on Africa will host the 2012 U.S.-Africa Agribusiness Investment Forum in Ethiopia to introduce the U.S.-Africa Business Center (USABC) and its role in facilitating U.S.-African trade and highlight other initiatives designed to boost agricultural growth, trade and investment.
The Second Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD II) will be organized in Punta del Este, Uruguay, October 29 to November 1. The GCARD II will focus on the ways to implement the tasks identified in the GCARD RoadMap with special attention to “Foresight and partnership for innovation and impact on small-holder livelihoods”.
This conference, organized by Zamorano Agricultural University, is the most representative and recognized IPM event in the Mesoamerican region. It is scheduled at the Hotel Honduras Maya, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, October 17-19, 2012, and the IPM CRSP symposium will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 from 8:00am to 10:00am.

Since 1994, the Food Security Analysis Unit at FAO has been developing and using a tool to improve the analysis and effective response in food security emergency contexts. This tool, the Integrated Food Security and Humanitarian Phase Classification (IPC), contributes significantly to on-going global efforts to standardize core elements of humanitarian analysis and response (e.g., the SMART, Benchmarking, Needs Analysis Framework, Humanitarian Tracking Service, and Sphere Project).
