CALiPER Round 7 Testing Results and SSL Product Life Issues

This April 9, 2009 webcast provided an overview of CALiPER's Round 7 testing results, and an update on the emerging understanding of service life and long-term reliability for solid-state lighting products. Heidi Steward of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) highlighted the testing results from CALiPER Round 7, including featured product categories outdoor lighting, downlight luminaires, and LED replacement lamps. Eric Richman, also of PNNL, reviewed the current understanding of life and reliability related to LED products, and provided an update on progress within standards development groups and industry toward an effective method for estimating expected useful life of LEDs. The webcast was moderated by Robert Lingard of PNNL.
