Head coach: Will Vreugdenhil
Last year: 4-2, lost 26-12 to Ansbach in D-II semifinals
Key game: Sept. 29 at Bitburg
Returning quarterback Marshall Kontos will be the key for the Raiders, who’ll be relying on deception and discipline in 2012, according to head coach Vreugdenhil.
“We’re expecting big things from him,” Vreugdenhil emailed.
The rest of the team is a work in progress as opening day, Sept. 15 against visiting Aviano, approaches.
“We have an exciting freshman class,” Vreugdenhil wrote, “but it will be a couple of years until they are able to create a significant impact.”
Their impact in 2012 is guaranteed to be in miles traveled. The Raiders have a road game scheduled at Naples on Sept. 22.
