Our Purpose

Glenn: First to fight is not just a slogan. The Marine Corps is the most ready organization among military services. In fact, I think the Marine Corps is going to be more needed in the future even than it has been in the past.

Huff: We fight for our friends. We fight for our peers. We fight for our freedom.

Swanson: We fight for the Constitution and what it stands for. We fight to be able to defend those around the globe that may not be able to stand up for themselves.

Smith: The purpose of the Marine Corps is to do whatever the nation asks. Some of it is dangerous, some of it's difficult, but it's not our job to question it as much as it is to do it to the best of our ability.

Robbins: The Marine Corps is a force of readiness. Mainly a combat force for the country. But we're also an all purpose force. We do humanitarian missions, deliver food, we build houses. Wherever we're needed we go.

Smith: If you ask the average Marine why do you fight or why are you here, the answers may vary but I think Marines are doing it because they honestly feel it's the right thing to do.

Glenn: There's no military service that has a longer illustrious combat record in representing this country and standing up for what this country is than the Marine Corps.

END.
