Roles in the Corps: Combat Engineering
Combat engineers build, repair and maintain buildings, roads and power supplies. They are responsible for employing explosives for construction and demolition projects, and operating the Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV) for clearing minefields.
The mainstay of the Ground Combat Element is the infantry, but every Marine on the ground is ably supported by artillery, amphibious assault vehicles, tanks and combat engineers. See more roles on the Ground.
