Jan. 26, 2012 — Ukrainian man, hockey coach charged in sex tourism case

Ivan Pravilov, a hockey coach, is charged with traveling for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct and transporting a person to engage in criminal sexual activity. He allegedly committed sexual acts with a 14-year-old boy while visiting the United States and attending hockey clinics. Pravilov is in federal custody and faces up to 40 years in prison, a $500,000 fine and a lifetime of supervised release if convicted. Full Story

Jan. 25, 2012 — ICE returns art stolen from French museum in 1981

A piece of art stolen from a French museum more than three decades ago is finally on its way home. Earlier this week, U.S. officials repatriated the one-of-a-kind print "Le Marche aux Poissons" (The Fish Market) to French Ambassador Francois Delattre. Full Story

Jan. 24, 2012 — ICE HSI special agents arrest Texas man on child pornography charges

An El Paso, Texas, man remains in federal custody awaiting judicial proceedings on child pornography charges, following his arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents. This arrest was made after special agents executed two federal search warrants at the suspect's home. Full Story

Jan. 24, 2012 — Europol becomes IPR Center's 20th partner agency

In an effort to bolster international partnerships and information sharing on intellectual property crime, the European Police Office (Europol) joined the ICE HSI-led National Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center) to become the center's 20th partner agency. Founded in 2000, the IPR Center is one of the U.S. government's key weapons in the fight against criminal counterfeiting and piracy. Full Story

Jan. 23, 2012 — Mexican woman gets nearly 20 years for methamphetamine trafficking

Reyna Osorio Martinez was a passenger in a 2002 Toyota Camry that attempted to enter the United States through the Brownsville and Matamoros Bridge Port of Entry. Federal officers discovered seven bundles of methamphetamine, valued at more than $1 million, in the vehicle. On Monday, she was sentenced to 235 months in prison. Full Story
