Steven J. Zamparelli, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director, Enterprise Sourcing Group, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He is responsible for an organization with a predicted end strength of 429 people and a total contract portfolio of more than $25.3 billion. He also directs enterprise-wide installation strategic sourcing for Air Force bases in the continental United States. The ESG executes existing and future contracting workload managed by its four aligning organizations: the Defense Technical Information Center, Air Force Medical Service, Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment, and Air Force Civil Engineering Service Agency. The ESG supports the Air Force mission with six active Commodity Councils; covering $4.7 billion in strategic sourcing spend.

Mr. Zamparelli is a 1976 graduate of Arizona State University. He was commissioned through the university's ROTC program and began his Air Force service as a base procurement officer at Williams AFB, Ariz., that same year. During his 30-year military career he was Director of Contracting for the San Antonio Air Logistics Center, Texas, overseeing the center's acquisition program. He commanded the Defense Contract Management Agency-Santa Ana, Calif., where he was responsible for administration of more than 15,000 contracts valued at $21 billion. He also deployed as Commander, DCMA-Iraq, responsible for the administration of more than $7 billion of task orders providing troop life support and contract security for the Combined Joint Task Force 7 (Iraq) and the Coalition Provisional Authority. He retired from active duty as Chief, Contracting Division, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill., in July 2006. After returning to serve the Air Force, he was acting Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary (Contracting), Headquarters U.S. Air Force Washington, D.C.

Prior to his current assignment, he was Director of Contracting at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga.
