Selected for reassignment as Deputy Director for Command, Control, Communications, and Computers/Cyber Systems, (J-6), Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Christopher P. Weggeman is Commander, 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. As such, General Weggeman leads a wing of more than 5,500 military and civilian personnel who maintain, deploy, and employ F-16 Fighting Falcon and A-10 Thunderbolt II, TPS-75 radar systems and $ 2.5 billlion of U.S. Protection Level 1 assets in support of NATO and U.S. missions as directed by the President and Secretary of Defense. The wing supports the Supreme Allied Commander Europe with mission-ready personnel and systems providing expeditionary air power.

General Weggeman's command experience includes the 421st Fighter Squadron, Air Combat Command, the 12th Operations Group, Air Education and Training Command and his present assignment commanding the 52nd Fighter Wing, United States Air Forces in Europe. He is a 1987 graduate of Purdue University, where he was commissioned through Air Force ROTC as a distinguished graduate.

General Weggeman has flown combat operations in Operation's Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom where he twice led an F-16 Squadron in combat.
