Dr. Robert Clemens, a senior level executive member, is Technical Adviser, Low Observables, Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Dr. Clemens provides technical oversight, advice and guidance in low observable technology to the highest Air Force and government officials.
Previous to this assignment, Dr. Clemens served ten years in the Sensors Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory culminating as the chief engineer where he ensured systems engineering practices and principles were institutionalized and embedded into scientific and technical planning, execution, and technology transfer.
Dr. Clemens has contributed to the success of numerous low observable aircraft systems, including the F-117, B-2, F-22, and F-35. His interests and experience are in system requirements definition, performance prediction codes, aperture technology, technology integration, system test, and sustainment. From 2006 to 2008, he served as an exchange scientist to the Defense Science and Technology Laboratory, Farnborough, England, researching radar scattering algorithms, signal processing, and prediction code validation.
