Brig. Gen. Richard M. Clark has been nominated to a Defense Attaché position, with final assignment pending.

General Clark was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and grew up in Oakland, Calif., and Richmond, Va. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1986. He is a command pilot with 4,200 flight hours, primarily in the B-1 bomber. His commands include the 34th Bomb Squadron, Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., and 12th Flying Training Wing, Randolph AFB, Texas.  He has also served as Director, Joint Interagency Task Force-Iraq, Multi-National Force-Iraq, Baghdad. Prior to his current assignment, the general was the Vice Commander, 8th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic), Barksdale AFB, La.
