RSSD Numbers

During the registration process, information provided by an institution in the NMLS Company Account Request Form, including name, address, RSSD ID number and primary federal regulator, is validated against information contained in the Federal Reserve System's National Information Center (NIC) Database.

An institution should review the its information in the NIC database, which is available at http://www.ffiec.gov/nicpubweb/nicweb/nichome.aspx, prior to completing the NMLS Company Account Request Form,.

If you believe the information in the NIC Database is incorrect, please contact the Federal Reserve Bank NIC Database Contact for your institution’s district or email NIC-Helpdesk@frb.gov prior to completing the NMLS Company Account Request Form.
If corrections are necessary, the NIC contact will assist with correcting the data.  Once the data is updated, it may take up to three days for the data to propagate through to the NMLS entitlement center, after which you will be able to complete the NMLS Company Account Request Form.

An institution can obtain its RSSD number by visiting the Federal Reserve System's National Information Center (NIC) Database available online at
http://www.ffiec.gov/nicpubweb/nicweb/nichome.aspx.

The Institution Search allows an institution to search for the RSSD number by name and location, Routing Transit Number (RTN), or FDIC Certificate Number. http://www.ffiec.gov/nicpubweb/nicweb/SearchForm.aspx.
