WASHINGTON, DC – House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) today released the following statement after President Barack Obama signed S. 710, the Hazardous Waste Electronic Manifest Establishment Act, into law. This new law will modernize the way the federal government and states track the shipment of hazardous waste by replacing the current paper-based tracking system with an electronic system.
