3/6/2012 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- Air Force officials have created a video tutorial, or vodcast, to educate civil service employees, supervisors and human resources specialists about the information and resources available to civilians on the Air Force Personnel Services, or AFPERS, website.

The five-minute vodcast teaches civilians about some of the features highlighted on the AFPERS civilian homepage and key resources like the Supervisor's Resource Center, MyBiz and other secure civilian personnel applications.

"The vodcast walks civilian employees through many of the essential resources available to them and their supervisors on the AFPERS website," said Randy Yates, from AFPC's civilian future operations branch. "It also shows them where to update their personnel records and find additional information about employment and career management opportunities."

Future video tutorials being proposed include addressing the top five issues received by the Total Force Service Center and how the AFPERS website can help answer other frequently asked questions or inquiries about personnel processes.

"These vodcasts help answer common questions about personnel services and self-service applications available on the AFPERS website," said Lt. Col. Jenise Carroll, AFPC's TFSC-San Antonio operations division chief.

The video tutorials are available on the Air Force Portal at https://www.my.af.mil under the Life and Careers tab and on the AFPC public website at http://www.afpc.af.mil/afpers_vodcasts/index.asp. These products can also be redistributed on other Air Force websites to further raise awareness and educate Airmen about online personnel services.

For more information on personnel services and self-service applications, visit the AFPERS website at https://gum-crm.csd.disa.mil.
