I am pleased to sponsor legislation and take actions that will support telecommunications and technology, particularly those that are spearheaded by Idahoans. This is not a comprehensive list of all the legislation I have co-sponsored related to telecommunications and technology. Legislation I have co-sponsored in the 111th Congress:
- S.Con.Res 14. A resolution supporting the Local Radio Freedom Act. Introduced March 30, 2009.
- S. 34. A bill to prevent the Federal Communications Commission from repromulgating the fairness doctrine. Introduced January 6, 2009.
- S. 47 and S. 71. A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the excise tax on telephone and other communication services. Introduced January 6, 2009.
- S. 144. A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to remove cell phones from listed property under section 280F. Introduced January 6, 2009.
- S. 515. A bill to amend title 35, United States Code, to provide for patent reform. Introduced March 3, 2009.
Other actions I have taken to support Idaho telecommunications and technology initiatives include:
- Advocated for funding for critical Idaho telecommunications and technology projects in FY2010 budget.
