How does your job support USSTRATCOM and our missions?
I assist Gen. Kehler with his official military duties by cultivating a dynamic environment of excellence where he, and other military officials, are in the business of preventing attacks against the U.S. and our allies.
What do you find most rewarding about your work at USSTRATCOM?
I feel some people are born with a natural ability to enrich someone's life with service. What I find most rewarding about my work is the service I provide, not only to our Commander, but also the guests that visit his quarters.
What has been a challenge for you regarding your work at USSTRATCOM and how have you overcome that challenge?
Interacting with multiple organizations, branches of service and people within USSTRATCOM can be challenging as an Enlisted Aide. It is especially difficult because we have to do this from a remote location and don't get the benefit of person-to-person interaction. Additionally, I have had to learn and exhibit the proper customs and courtesies of visiting DVs, and then demonstrate them at a moment's notice. I have overcome these challenges by educating myself and practicing them throughout my tenure as an aide.
What has been your most memorable experience in the military?
I will always remember one emotional morning at Peterson AFB, CO, when we welcomed home a fallen Soldier. Airmen, Soldiers, and various personnel lined up shoulder to shoulder, on both sides of the street, from the flight line stretching 1 ½ miles. I was proud to be part of an event which expressed to his family, how we honored his ultimate sacrifice.
What is the one piece of information or advice about working at USSTRATCOM that you'd pass on to new members of the STRATCOM team?
Understand that the interactions between members of the different branches of service may vary from what we as Air Force members are accustomed to, so stay flexible and have an open mind.
