“Our non-commissioned officers are closer to the soldiers and closer to the people,” said Afghan National Police Col. Abdul Gardizi. “Every leader needs a good NCO with him in order to get the mission done so I feel these men will benefit greatly from the advanced training.”

The Republic of Turkey has taken up the training role for the Afghan Police Force as part of its contribution to the reconstruction of Afghanistan. TSgt Dominique Dickens reports that Turkey’s plan to train nearly 15,000 Afghan police is underway.

Afghan Public Protection Force to become Afghan’s newest guards

As of June 4, the APPF has a force of approximately 16,000 guards. This includes about 6,000 pre-existing APPF guards and 6,000 guards who have transitioned from private security companies. Its target goal is approximately 30,000 guards by March 2013.

“We start from zero, but right now we are trying to give police and personnel good training but we’re not at the level of the United States. RSC-North transfers RTC Konduz in ceremony

“With the closure of RTC Konduz, the ANP training staff has been transferred to other Police Training centers in the north. They will continue to train new police recruits at their new locations, thus allowing the training centers to sustain the required force levels,” said Col. Robin Fontes, the RSC-North commander.
