West Texas man sentenced to 15 years in prison for receiving child pornography

MIDLAND, Texas - A west Texas man, who is a registered sex offender, was sentenced on Thursday to 15 years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty in March to receiving child pornography. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted the investigation.

Paul Michael Revell, 25, was also ordered to serve a lifetime of supervised release after he completes his sentence, according to the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Robert A. Junell.

ICE agents executed a search warrant at Revell's residence in November and seized his laptop computer. A forensic analysis of his computer revealed more than 100 sexually explicit images of child pornography that Revell downloaded from the Internet.
Revell faced an enhanced mandatory minimum sentencing range because he was convicted in March 2005 of possessing child pornography. During the 2005 sentencing, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Revell's arrest was part of Operation Predator, an ICE initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal alien sex offenders and child sex traffickers. Since ICE launched Operation Predator in 2003, more than 12,000 child sex predators, sex tourists and child pornographers have been arrested.
