Nearly 600 Guardsmen sign up for new, innovative job-seeker program

In only a few weeks since its launch, Operation KickStart, a Forward March program, is already creating excitement and results for Guardsmen seeking new civilian job opportunities. Nearly 600 Guardsmen have signed up and are beginning the initial steps of this innovative job-seeker program. In fact, Guardsmen are already securing meaningful employment and pursing opportunities to further their education thanks to the program.

The program combines the latest online job-search technology, video gaming strategies and hands-on career coaching to help Guardsmen find the right job to meet their military skill set, and keep them encouraged during the job-search process. Operation KickStart representatives and career coaches recently were at the Daytona Beach Armed Forces Reserve Center to introduce the program, answer questions and take registrations. Maj. Gen. James D. Tyre, Assistant Adjutant General for the Florida Army National Guard, was on hand to observe and assess Operation KickStart’s rollout and engage with Guardsmen to ensure the program’s success.
