Offices and Departments
The Embassy's Economic and Commercial section (ECON/COMM) manages the full range of economic issues between the United States and Haiti, encouraging macroeconomic stability and sound policies that lead to economic growth and poverty reduction. On the commercial side, the section promotes U.S. exports and assists and advocates on behalf of U.S. businesses in Haiti, working closely with the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti and the U.S. Commercial Service Caribbean Regional Office, located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. ECON/COMM works actively with companies interested in taking advantage of the U.S. government’s HELP and HOPE acts to invest in Haiti’s manufacturing/assembly sector.
