Visiting Washington, D.C.
If you are planning to visit our nation's capital, my office can attempt to arrange tours and tickets to some of this city's fascinating sites. These include tours of the White House, the U.S. Capitol, and passes to the United States Senate and House of Representatives visitors' galleries. Because these services are very popular, we typically require a five to six week notice and there are no guarantees.
The White House offers tours to the general public, with congressional offices acting as liaisons to the White House Visitor Center. Please contact my Washington office to submit a request. Be aware that all groups touring the White House will have to submit security information to my office upon requesting a tour. Due to the large number of people requesting tours, my staff cannot make any guarantees. Any groups that do not submit a request six months in advance will be extremely difficult to accommodate.
Capitol tours have changed due to increased security. You can sign up for a group tour through my office. Tours of the Capitol are also offered daily from 8:50am to 3:20pm, Monday through Saturday. The tour is free of charge and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
I hope that we can help make your visit to Washington more pleasurable and rewarding. Please stop by my office when you come into town. We also can provide you with visitors' maps and additional information about area sites and attractions.
Our office is experiencing a high volume of tour requests at this time. Please be aware that it is possible we may not be able to schedule all of your requested tours. We accept White House tour requests up to six months in advance and no later than 30 days in advance. Due to high demand and various White House restrictions, we cannot guarantee White House tours. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. Thank you.
