STAM 2005 - September 21-22, 2005
Hosted by the Delaware Greenway and Trail Program, Park Resource Office

Susan Moerschel and David Bartoo, Delaware State Parks, invite the State Trail Administrators to meet on September 21-22, 2005, at White Clay Creek State Park, Newark, DE. Delaware would like a tentative headcount for this meeting. Please contact jonathan.leclere@fhwa.dot.gov by November 30, 2004, if you think you will attend the 2005 STAM.

Delaware will host the meeting, partnering with a local trail organization and possibly the International Mountain Bicycling Association. It is envisioned that we will have a one-day administrative meeting followed by day of field training. We will experience on-the-ground trail construction and maintenance with both machines and hand tools. Choices will be offered for hiking and mountain biking the 40+ miles of trail in White Clay Creek State Park. See the Park map, move mouse over the park boundary and click to get a detailed map. Also see the Newark bike map.

Newark is located where Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland meet, and home of the University of Delaware (www.udel.edu/). Newark's Main Street is a happening place offering variety of restaurants and shops. Newark is close to Wilmington and Philadelphia, and Baltimore isn't too far south. Amtrak and SEPTA have rail service to Newark, Wilmington, and Philadelphia.

We'll provide more details at www.fhwa.dot.gov/environment/recreational_trails/events/stam_2005/ as we develop them.
